Unblur text in an image without inventing the words
Photographed documents, scans and screenshots lose letter edges to blur, low resolution and compression. Upload one page, run the text and document profile, and compare the result against the original before you trust any word it appears to fix.
Upscale image resolution
Upload a still, choose 2K, 4K, or 8K output, and run SeedVR2 for enlargement with light cleanup of recoverable detail.
Supports JPG, PNG, and WebP up to 20 MB. Use a direct image file URL, not a normal webpage or chat share link.
Cloud processing — no powerful computer required
Use this upscaler when the source is already fairly clear and mainly needs a larger export. It is not a deep restoration tool for severely blurred, grainy, or damaged old photos; use Old Photo Enhancer for those. Colorization is a separate task. A video screenshot can only evaluate single-frame quality—not flicker, motion, or character consistency. For cartoon footage, test the dedicated Cartoon Video Upscaler with the original video and frame rate.
Open Old Photo EnhancerBest for clear photos that mostly need a larger export.
Start with 2K for small, soft, grainy, or old photos. A 4K or 8K export is larger, but it cannot recover detail missing from the source.
Auto keeps transparent-capable sources as PNG and normal photos as JPEG.

What this route does for text
One general restoration upscaler with a text and document input profile, plus an honest list of what it changes and what it cannot.
Light blur and soft letter edges
Slight defocus and mild motion blur still carry letter shape, so tightening edges usually helps. Heavy blur has already removed the strokes, so there is nothing reliable left to tighten.
Text and document profile
This input profile denoises and sharpens printed text instead of reconstructing photographic texture, which suits scans, screenshots and photos of pages better than a photo profile does.
2K, 4K and 8K targets
Upscaling gives small letters more pixels to live in, which is often the real fix for a photo taken from too far away. It enlarges the strokes; it does not add strokes the capture never recorded.
Limits stated up front
Model output is an estimate. Digits, names and punctuation can change, so a processed document is a reading aid, never a legal or archival source.
Unblur one page at a time
The order below keeps a readable page from being turned into a confident, wrong one.
- Step 1
Pick the worst page, not the best
Choose the page whose text is hardest to read: small print in a corner, a photographed receipt, a screenshot resized twice. A page that was already legible proves nothing about the ones you actually need.
- Step 2
Upload the original file
JPG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB. Send the file you have rather than a screenshot of it on screen, because a second screen grab adds softness that the model then has to fight.
- Step 3
Choose the text and document profile
Set the input profile to text or scanned document and start at 2K. That combination is the cheapest run that still shows whether letter shapes survive, and it is the setting this page is actually about.
- Step 4
Read both versions word by word
Put the original and the output side by side at the same zoom, and read every line that matters: numbers, names, dates and punctuation. Keep the pass only where it changes clarity without changing meaning.
Before you rely on a cleaned-up page
Sharpening is an estimate, not a reading. Nothing here guarantees that a blurred word becomes the word that was printed, and the output is not evidence in itself.
Blur and low resolution remove strokes from the capture. When a letter is gone, a model can only leave a soft mark or draw a plausible replacement, and the two are hard to tell apart at a glance.
Check digits and proper nouns twice. A reconstructed 3 can look like an 8, and a reconstructed surname can flatten into a different one; those are exactly the errors a reader will not notice.
Download the result promptly and keep the untouched original next to it. Creation storage is not a permanent archive, and a document without its original cannot be re-checked later.
Unblur text in image questions
Short answers on what happens to blurry print, what is free, and how this differs from the video route.
Can this make blurred text in an image readable?
Sometimes. Light blur and mild compression still hold letter shape, so sharpening and a 2K or 4K pass often make small print easier to read. Heavy blur, motion blur across the page and very low resolution have already removed the strokes, and a model can only guess at them.
Can I try it without paying?
The first 2K image is charged at 0 credits for a new signed-in account with no earlier image task, and 4K or 8K runs always cost credits. A guest can upload and see the tool preview and its locked result before deciding whether to sign in and spend anything.
Is there a version for blurry video?
Yes, and it is a different page because moving pictures add a dimension that stills do not have. Motion blur changes from frame to frame, so the video route tests a short clip for temporal stability instead of judging a single page.
Is this the same as the document restoration tool?
No. The document restoration tool is built around Urdu Nastaliq script and printing, while this page uses the general image upscaler with its text and document profile. For an ordinary Latin, Cyrillic or CJK scan of a few pages, start here.
The rest of the text workflow
A still page, a moving picture and a specialist document tool are three different jobs; pick the one that matches the file.
