Browser credits versus local nodes
Try one SeedVR2 file online before you install ComfyUI
Search traffic for SeedVR2 still lands on ComfyUI install guides. Those pages answer a local problem: checkpoints, VAE, block swap, and 8GB VRAM. SeedVR2.net answers a different problem: one lawful clip, a visible credit preflight, and a download without standing up nodes. Use this page to choose the path, then run the live tool only if a hosted test is the next honest step.
Owned still layout, then your own motion review
The still pair is a first-party SeedVR2 cleanup example. It is not a ComfyUI render and not your upload. Use it to understand the review layout, then inspect several timestamps on any video result.

This demonstration uses repository-owned still media. Local ComfyUI outputs and hosted outputs must be compared on your own clip, at matching timestamps, before you pick a production path.
This comparison is published by SeedVR2.net. ComfyUI SeedVR2 is documented by Comfy-Org and the ByteDance Seed research release. The page does not claim a universal quality winner. It compares a hosted credit job with a local install that you operate, update, and debug yourself.
Run the hosted side of the same decision
Use the same short lawful clip you would feed a ComfyUI graph. Record source size, duration, target resolution, credits, elapsed time, and rejection notes so a later local experiment can be compared fairly.
First eligible 5-second 720p Standard run: free
Verify your email to use your first video run without credits or a card. A failed run does not use the trial; longer clips and other settings show their exact credit cost before submission.
Browser upload limit: 500 MB. For larger files, paste a publicly accessible HTTPS URL. Each job supports videos up to 10 minutes.
Quick scene presets
Presets pick a model for a common scenario. You can still switch models manually below.
Upscaled preview
Compare the enhanced output before exporting the final file.
Upload a clip, paste a direct video URL, or load the sample. No example video is downloaded until you ask for it.
Tip: keep your original FPS and avoid pre-scaling. The upscaler handles cadence better than most NLE plugins.
Test before processing the full video
Upscaling cannot recreate detail removed by heavy messaging compression. Test the hardest 5–10-second segment first; a higher-priced model is not automatically a better fit.
Two products that share a model name
SeedVR2 is a research model. ComfyUI exposes it as local nodes and checkpoints. SeedVR2.net sells a hosted job around a related cleanup family. Sharing a name is not the same as sharing operations, privacy, or cost.
- SeedVR2.net
- Browser + credits
- ComfyUI SeedVR2
- Local nodes
- Local constraint
- VRAM and disk
- Fastest first test
- Hosted clip
No checkpoint download. Each accepted job consumes credits and leaves your machine.
Official ComfyUI documentation covers native SeedVR2 upscaling, preprocess, and temporal chunking.
Checkpoints live on your disk. Long videos need temporal chunking when memory is tight.
If you only need to know whether one file is worth more work, a browser test is shorter than an install.
Short answer: one hosted test or a local workshop
Choose SeedVR2.net when you want a result from one clip without installing Python, downloading multi-gigabyte checkpoints, or debugging CUDA out-of-memory errors tonight. The hosted path is a product: upload or URL, resolution, credit preflight, queue, download. That is the right shape for a buyer who has not yet proven that SeedVR2 is even the right restoration for their source. It is also the right shape when the workstation in front of you is a laptop with no spare VRAM.
Choose official ComfyUI SeedVR2 when you already accept local ownership. ComfyUI documentation describes SeedVR2 as a one-step diffusion restoration model from ByteDance Seed, with native nodes, Hugging Face checkpoints, preprocess and postprocess helpers, and temporal chunking for long latents. That stack can keep media on a machine you control and can be wired into a larger graph. It also means you own updates, disk, drivers, failed kernels, and the time it takes to make the first graph run.
Do not install ComfyUI only because a search result said SeedVR2 lives there. Many people searching SeedVR2 want to know whether the model helps their file. A hosted test answers that cheaper than a night of node errors. Install locally after the test if you need repeat runs, private media, or graph control. If the hosted test already fails identity, text, or motion, installing the same family locally will not magically invent missing ground truth.
- Hosted SeedVR2.net fits one selected clip and a visible credit cost.
- ComfyUI SeedVR2 fits operators who will maintain nodes, weights, and VRAM.
- Use the same short source for both paths before you commit a catalog.
What a ComfyUI install actually asks of you
Official ComfyUI documentation presents SeedVR2 as natively supported upscaling, not a random custom node you found in a screenshot. The documented path includes downloading checkpoints from the Comfy-Org SeedVR2 Hugging Face repository, placing them in the correct folders, and using preprocess, sampler, temporal chunk, and postprocess nodes. That is real software work. It is not a one-click website.
VRAM is the usual stop. ComfyUI exposes temporal chunking so long video latents can be processed in pieces. That is useful and it is also a warning: the model is large enough that memory policy is part of the product. Block swap, tiling, and conservative batches show up in community guides because people hit the wall. If your machine is already swapping, a hosted job is not cheating. It is a different cost model.
Local success also depends on drivers, disk, and time to first graph. A first-time installer can lose an evening before seeing one finished frame. That time has a price even when the license is free. Count it. If the only question is whether one client clip improves, pay for a hosted test and keep the evening.
Where the file goes, and who can see it
A hosted job transfers the source to SeedVR2.net processing. That is acceptable for many marketing clips and rejected for others. If a contract, hospital, or newsroom rule says the file cannot leave the building, do not use the browser path. ComfyUI on an air-gapped workstation can keep bytes local if you design it that way.
Local is not automatically private. A machine with cloud sync, a shared GPU box, or a casually copied checkpoint folder can leak as easily as a host. Privacy is a design, not a logo. Write the rule first, then pick the tool that can obey it.
For ordinary creator files you are allowed to process, the honest trade is convenience against transfer. SeedVR2.net shows credits and returns a download. ComfyUI keeps the graph. Neither one grants you rights you did not already have in the source.
Credits versus hardware, electricity, and evenings
SeedVR2.net bills credits from model, resolution, and verified duration. A five-second minimum makes short tests comparable. Failed jobs return reserved credits. A completed job you dislike still consumed work. The number inside the tool is the authority.
ComfyUI has no checkout, but it is not free. You pay in GPU, power, disk, and the hours required to install, update, and recover from errors. A single 8GB card can make SeedVR2 local painful. A rented cloud GPU reintroduces transfer and hourly cost. Add those numbers before calling local the cheap option.
After a first successful hosted result, the site can offer a smaller continuation pack for one more file instead of the public starter table. That matters when you only needed to finish the next clip. Local software does not remove that product decision; it just moves the cost off the invoice and onto the workstation.
A decision you can make after one clip
If you arrived from a ComfyUI tutorial, do not close this tab and keep installing by default. Take the shortest lawful clip that contains the hard part of your job. Run it here at 1080p. Review faces, hands, text, and motion. Write what improved and what was invented.
If the hosted result is good enough and you only do this occasionally, stay hosted. If the result is promising but you need batch folders, private media, or graph control, install ComfyUI with the official SeedVR2 docs and compare the same clip. If the hosted result already fails, stop and change the source rather than assuming local weights will invent missing detail.
Seedance and MiniMax users often want this exact split: cheap generation, then one upscale of a keeper. Use the Seedance page for that loop. Use Topaz comparison if you need a desktop suite with stabilization and interpolation. Use this page only for the install-versus-browser choice.
Hosted SeedVR2.net versus ComfyUI SeedVR2
The rows compare operations, not a controlled quality benchmark. Official ComfyUI and ByteDance Seed pages describe the local model. SeedVR2.net describes the hosted job.
| Decision area | SeedVR2.net | ComfyUI SeedVR2 |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A hosted browser product that bills credits for selected upscale jobs. | Official ComfyUI nodes and checkpoints for local SeedVR2 restoration. |
| Time to first test | Upload or paste a URL, choose resolution, read credits, submit. | Install ComfyUI, download checkpoints, place files, build a graph, debug VRAM. |
| Hardware boundary | No local inference GPU required; you need network and a review device. | Local GPU, disk for weights, and often temporal chunking for long video. |
| Data boundary | Source transfers to hosted processing and must be authorized for that use. | Can stay on a machine you control if the workstation is designed that way. |
| Cost model | Credits per accepted job from model, duration, and output resolution. | No checkout; you own GPU, power, disk, updates, and operator time. |
| Operator control | Focused product settings and a live preflight, not a full node graph. | Graph control, preprocess, chunking, and postprocess nodes. |
ComfyUI SeedVR2 documentation and SeedVR2.net product behavior can change after this date. Compare accepted output on your own clip and include install time, VRAM failures, privacy rules, and credit cost in the same notebook.
Limits of this comparison
A first-party page cannot replace a proof of concept. Model weights, ComfyUI nodes, hosted pricing, and provider queues change. Use official docs and a short lawful test before you commit a catalog.
- No controlled hosted-versus-ComfyUI visual benchmark was run for this page.
- Community screenshots are not a substitute for current ComfyUI SeedVR2 documentation.
- Local memory behavior depends on your card, clip length, and graph. Failures must be tested, not assumed.
- Neither path grants rights you do not already have in the source file.

Online versus ComfyUI questions
Is SeedVR2.net the same binary as ComfyUI SeedVR2?
No. ComfyUI SeedVR2 is a local node and checkpoint path documented by Comfy-Org. SeedVR2.net is a hosted credit product. They share a research family, not an install.
I only want to know if my file improves. What should I do first?
Run one short lawful clip in the browser and review several timestamps. Install ComfyUI after that if you need privacy, batch graphs, or repeat local control.
My local SeedVR2 run dies with out-of-memory errors. Should I keep tuning?
If you need local ownership, follow official chunking and current docs. If you only needed one file tonight, a hosted test is often cheaper than another evening of VRAM work.
Why do Google results keep sending me to ComfyUI tutorials?
Most public SeedVR2 writing is about local installs. This page exists so searchers who only need one test can choose a browser path without pretending the install guides are wrong.
