Credits are the prepaid unit SeedVR2.net uses for every upscale job. This page is a plain-numbers reference for how they work — image prices, video rates, the free trials, and what a typical job costs. Prices below are the published rates at the time of writing; the live tool preflight and the pricing page are always the source of truth.
How credits work
You buy credit packs on the pricing page; public batch packs start at $29.99 for 1,500 credits. Every job quotes its cost before it runs, and the credits are deducted only when the job is submitted. A daily sign-in grants 2 credits, which does not by itself buy a paid job — the cheapest image upscale is 10 credits.
Two things to confirm on the pricing page before buying: current pack prices and any expiry terms that apply to your account's credit grants.
Image upscaling prices
The SeedVR2 image upscaler charges a flat fee per image, based on the target resolution:

A 10-photo batch at 2K is 100 credits; the same batch at 4K is 160 credits.
Video upscaling prices
Video bills per second of source footage, with a 5-second minimum and a 10-minute maximum per clip. The five models each have their own rate table. The standard model — the default and the cheapest — looks like this:

Concrete examples on the standard model:
- 10 seconds at 1080p: 90 credits
- 30 seconds at 1080p: 270 credits
- 30 seconds at 4K: 990 credits
The difference between 720p and 4K is not a marketing upsell — 4K processing costs the provider more per second, and that cost is reflected in the rate.
Free trials and guest previews
New signed-in accounts get two first-job trials:
- First image: one 2K image upscale can finish for free
- First video: one video job on the standard model at 720p, up to 5 seconds, with a verified email
Guests who have not signed in can see a 720px preview of image results; unlocking the full result for a guest is $4.99. The trials apply to the first qualifying job — they are test runs, not discounts on later jobs.
How video billing seconds are calculated
Video costs are based on the source clip's duration, with three rules:
- Duration is rounded up to whole seconds
- Anything under 5 seconds bills as 5 seconds
- Anything over 10 minutes is clamped to the 10-minute maximum
So a 4.3-second clip bills as 5 seconds, and a 12-minute clip bills as 10 minutes. The per-second rate comes from the model and resolution you pick, which is why the same clip can cost anywhere from 9 credits per second to 131 — the model choice is the pricing lever, not the duration math.
Failed jobs and refunds
Credits are deducted when a job is submitted, but they are not lost when the job fails. If a generation fails because of provider downtime, a content policy rejection, or an infrastructure error, the system automatically attempts to return the consumed credits — typically within 24 hours, and visible as a "Refunded" line item in your billing history. Unused credit packs are refundable within 14 days of purchase under the refund policy. Details and limits are listed there.
How to see the live number for your job
Two tools remove the guessing:
- The upscale cost calculator estimates credits, time, and output size for an image or a clip before you upload
- The live preflight in the image upscaler and video upscaler shows the exact credit total for the actual file, after it reads the real duration and settings
Use the calculator for planning a batch, and trust the preflight for the final number.

- Restore one old photo to 2K: 10 credits — or free with the first-image trial
- Batch 20 product photos to 2K: 200 credits
- Test a 5-second video upscale at 720p: 45 credits — or free with the first-video trial
- Upscale a 30-second travel clip to 4K (standard model): 990 credits

Credits are transparent: the price per job is visible before you submit, and the pricing page shows what packs cost. Nothing is billed per surprise.
